History
The Junior League of Savannah was established in 1926 to further interest among its members in social, economic, educational, cultural and civic conditions of the community through effective volunteer service.
Today, the League holds the same commitment. Members have given millions of volunteer hours and approximately $3 million to the community.
The annual Junior League Thrift Sale, held each fall, is a primary source of funding for the League’s
community improvement projects. Other major fund-raisers include the sale of award-winning Junior League cookbooks.
Mission
The Junior League of Savannah is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Vision
The Junior League: Women around the world as catalysts for lasting community change.
Focus
Currently the Junior League of Savannah focuses its efforts on women and children's advocacy. The Junior League of Savannah believes that women and children deserve to be empowered through quality opportunities
in order to thrive and to be contributing members of our community. These opportunities should develop the whole person socially, emotionally, physically, as well as academically
